Empowering Families! |
Family EducatorsFamily Educators work with families that have been identified as neglect or abuse cases by CPS (child protection services). Through positive role modeling, they teach parenting & living skills, personal and home hygiene, discipline, rules, consequences, and consistency. Bonding between parent and child is the goal. Family Educators assist clients in obtaining transportation, jobs, babysitting, food stamps, and Medicaid. They become the client's support system. This 24/7 job is often confrontational, dangerous, and thankless. Family educators are frequently called to testify in court. They are often a key in determining the child's removal or placement in abuse/neglect cases. |
