Babies Sleep Safer: Alone, on their Backs, and in a safe Crib.

Family Service Association of Howard County has teamed up with First Candle to make Safe Sleep Kits available to families who need a safe place for their baby to sleep. First Candle is a national organization that promotes safe sleep for infants.

Family Service Association of Howard County is working with the Howard County Safe Sleep Task Force that was formed in response to an increase in infant deaths in Howard County due to unsafe sleeping environments.

Each Safe Sleep Kit includes a pack-n-play crib, sheet, wearable blanket for the infant and a pacifier. To qualify for the program, participants must complete a one hour educational session on safe sleep for infants. The Safe Sleep Kits are free and available to any family in need of a safe sleeping environment for their infant. Prenatal families may also apply.
