Domestic Violence Program Advocate (Part-time Weekends Midnights)


Family Service Association of Howard County is hiring a Part-Time, weekends, midnights (i.e. Midnight to 8:00 am) Domestic Violence Program Advocate. The Advocate will assist clients residing at the Domestic Violence Shelter. Advocates are responsible for answering and operating the telephone system including crisis calls. Additionally, advocates are responsible for completing client intakes, ensuring that the client receives orientation (and understands the policies and procedures), and completing the client exit paperwork. They are further responsible for completing daily paperwork, unlocking doors, keeping record of where all clients are located, advocacy and in general assisting clients through an extremely difficult time.

Healthy Families - Family Support Worker Howard, Tipton, & Clinton County



Positions available:

Howard, Tipton & Clinton County: Part time, leading to full time as caseloads builds. Preference given to bilingual (Spanish) applicants.

Job Description:
Family Service Association has Full-Time and Part-Time Family Support Worker positions available in Howard, Clinton, and Tipton Counties. Healthy Families is a voluntary, home visiting program that provides education, support, and case management to low-income families with young children ages 0 – 3 living in Howard, Tipton and Clinton counties to promote supportive environments that optimize child growth and development and encourage resilient, healthy families

The Family Support Workers establishes a trusting relationship with at-risk families by initiating and maintaining regular client contact through home visiting services. Family Support Workers will increase the bond between parent and child by providing resources, support, encouragement and celebrating successes. Duties: The Family Support Worker provides education and support to families with young children. Travel to surrounding counties may be required on an as needed basis.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Prefer applicants with some college education and who have experience working with parents and children.

Other Requirements: Requirements include: reliable transportation, basic computer skills, good writing skills, good listening skills and compassion.

*Must be able to pass DCS background check.*
